For your business:
Register as firm and link venues with your profile. It's free!
Later you can give special permissions to users who belong to your business in order to allow them to manage guestlists and VIP lists for your venues, and promote events.

How we are using Flickr API:
In Keevu, every venue 'magically' gets photos after submission thanks to the venue name, and the venue city. We search in Flickr for photos tagged with those keywords and show the found photos in the venue profile. We make use of cache, of course!

With routes and events we make something similar, but we use tagmachines. An example of tagmachine would be keevu:event=9. With this tag, we are indicating that the photo is for the event ID 9 in Keevu, and photos tagged like this, will be shown in the event details.
For routes we do the same.

Flickr, Y! Venues must be first added and if the venue in the local Stolen Mix Tape database does not exist on Upcoming.org, then the venue is added.

Also, concerts that are not in the local Stolen Mix Tape database but exist on Upcoming.org are listed on the local venue's profile page. This helps increase visibility of the page in search results as well as provides a value-added service to Stolen Mix Tape users.

Adactio Elsewhere

Small pieces of me loosely joined. This is based on the new tagging notation introduced this week by flickr and upcoming (but also supports the old notation upcoming:event_id):

    * if the photo does not have an upcoming tag, a select box will show your upcoming.org’s past events so you can associate the photo to an event
    * if the photo is tagged with an upcoming tag (of the form upcoming:event=XXXX), informations about the events are displayed. If you can tag the shot, you can transfer (with the small +) the info as a tag of your shot. If the venue has been geo located by upcoming, you can geotag the photo directly without going through the map interface.

Yankovic Concert Finder

Find out where Weird Al Yankovic will be playing this tour and which gigs are closest to you.

Upcoming Group Gallery

This script lets you easily view pictures from a group's past events on Upcoming. It uses Yahoo Pipes to fetch all the past events with Upcoming's API. Then for each past event, it searches for Flickr pics with the special machine tag for each event. Then the script displays those pictures (10 at a time) on the group page.
